Agents are going to small shops which keep change of all denominations and are selling them to collectors. Here are some of the notes and coins which are in high demand
1. One bundle of hundred notes of Re. 1 with a signature of Dr. Manmohan Singh who was the finance secretary in the year 1977 and 1978 can fetch you lakhs provided the notes are in better than average condition.
2. A bundle of Re. 1 notes signed by Montek Singh Alhuwalia can give you a whopping Rupees three and a half lakh!
3. 1 Rs. coins which were minted in the years 1972 and 1985 can bring in Rs. 25000 for you, provided that it weighs over 9 grams.
4. A Rs. 5 coin with Indira Gandhi’s face can be sold for over Rs. 50,000.
5. 25 paise coins which have the RBI symbol can be sold at Rs. 10,000.
