Selected soldiers from the UK, Germany, and the US are sent to Indian Army’s High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) in Gulmarg, Jammu & Kashmir. It is regarded as one of the best warfare academies in the world.

2. Indian Remote Sensing (IRS) system

India developed its own Indian Remote Sensing satellite program in a bid to boost the country’s economy by aiding the fields of in the areas of agriculture, water resources, forestry and ecology, geology, water sheds, marine fisheries and coastal management. Previously India used to depend on the US for satellite. Owing to the sluggish pace of this process, over 2000 people died in the Odisha cyclone in 1999.
