Deepika Padukone was already a very famous and popular model when she entered the Hindi Film industry. She made her debut in Bollywood with Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The movie was a Blockbuster and marked a great beginning of her career as an actress. She did not stop after this and attained new heights of success with every movie! And now she has created a place for herself in Bollywood which probably even she would never have imagined and is counted among the top actresses of the industry. Surely all the credit goes to her hard-work and dedication, even though looks and body show matter a lot.
Deepika started modeling in her college days; she walked on ramp while she was studying in National Law college, Bengaluru. She was appointed the brand ambassador by Dabur Dant Manjan, Close-Up, Limca, Liril and in fact, cosmetics company Maybelline has made her International spokesperson.
2006 proved to be a lucky year for Deepika as she became the Kingfisher calendar girl and got selected as the “Model of the Year” too. She was chosen for Kingfisher Swimsuit calendar (2006) and won two awards – “Female Model of the Year” and “Fresh face of the Year” in Zee Fashion Awards. Besides, she also did modeling for big brands such as Levi Strauss, Kingfisher Airlines and Tissot SA as well as was seen in Himesh Reshammiya’s music video “Naam Hai tera”.
