As preparations heat up for the IPL 2026, young all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar is quietly making a strong impression at the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) training camp. Training at the Ekana Stadium, Arjun has caught the eye of captain Rishabh Pant not just for his intensity but for a rather uncommon choice that reflects his cricketing roots.
During a relaxed break in practice, a candid conversation between Arjun Tendulkar and Rishabh Pant grabbed attention online. The topic? Bat weight — something most fans rarely think about, but which plays a huge role in a player’s performance. When Rishabh Pant asked about the bat’s weight, Arjun Tendulkar revealed he uses a bat weighing around 1220 grams. That number stood out, especially in today’s game where players prefer lighter bats for faster swings.
In his own words, Arjun explained, “1220(gms). Touch karo toh jaati hai. Papa toh 1310-1315. Main toh 1200 se halka toh main jaata nahi hoon.” His approach clearly draws inspiration from his father Sachin Tendulkar who famously used heavier bats throughout his legendary career.

While modern cricket leans towards power-hitting with lighter bats, Arjun believes a heavier bat helps with better timing and natural power. This philosophy mirrors Sachin’s style where precision and timing mattered more than brute force. Sachin, who typically used bats between 1310 and 1315 grams, never compromised on weight and instead worked on balance and design to perfect his shots.

Off the field too, Arjun’s dedication is turning heads. Just days after his wedding to Saaniya Chandhok on March 5, he returned to training under mentor Yuvraj Singh. His commitment, discipline and readiness to contribute have impressed Rishabh Pant and the LSG support staff alike.
