13-Yr Girl Died After Molesters Threw Her Off The Bus, One More Nirbhaya?

In a shockingly horrible incident, a minor girl of 13 was ‘thrown off’ bus by molesters. It was on Thursday that Punjab police took each of the four men into custody including the conductor. It’s notable at this point that the poor girl lost her life after accused pushed her off the moving bus in the vicinity of Gill village.

The teenage lived in Landheke village and boarded the bus with her mother. On resisting physical harassment, both of them were ‘thrown out’ on account of which the girl died then and there. Cop has filed a case against conductor, driver and other accused under IPC Sections 302, 307 and 354 for ‘murder’, ‘attempt to murder’ and ‘assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty’ respectively.

As per cop, mother (34) and daughter boarded the bus from Moga and on reaching near Gill, few scoundrels began to molest the teenage. When they complained for the same to conductor and driver, they neither pay attention nor came forward to provide them assistance and finding themselves helpless, they both ‘jumped off’ bus for resisting harassment. Nevertheless, mother of girl allegedly told Hindustan Times that they were thrown out of it.

According to an eyewitness, several youngsters as well as staff of the bus molested them and passed vulgar comments and when they made an attempt of getting off the bus, driver started increasing speed.

In the words of an eyewitness, “No one on the bus came to the rescue of the victims. There were not many passengers in the bus when the incident happened.”

It’s worth mentioning that the bus in which this all took place belongs to Orbit Aviation and owner of the same is Sukhbir Badal, Punjab deputy CM.

Bhagwant Mann, AAP Sangrur MP has condemned it and alleged that all the drivers believe themselves to be Sukhbir Badal, whereas Punjab Congress demands a complaint against Sukhbir Badal.

Parkash Singh Badal, Punjab CM, has called it unfortunate, maintaining that these kinds of cases happen in other buses too.

Even though this incident took place on April 29, 2015, we come across such cases on a regular basis and despite knowing that it’s wrong, people don’t raise their voice against these kinds of crimes and that’s why number of Nirbhayas in our society is increasing.
