Carolina Marin, a Spanish badminton player, is presently ranked the top shuttler by Badminton World Federation Women’s Singles 2016. What’s more, Carolina got first gold medal in Olympics Rio when she defeated Indian badminton player PV Sindhu. She began to play badminton at Huelva’s IES La Orden badminton club. In 2009, Marin was the first ever shuttler of Spain who won silver in European Junior Badminton Championships. Afterward, she won gold at European U17 Badminton Championships in the year 2009.
In IBL (Indian Badminton League), she played for Banga Beats, a Bangalore-based team, in 2013 and not only this, she became the first shuttler of her country who won the title of Grand Prix Gold subsequent to attain a victory in 2013 London Grand Prix Gold.
