The rape incidents in India are on a rise and what is more shocking is that in some cases, the victims and the accused, both are minors.
In a horrific incident in Bareilly, police detained a 14-yr boy on Monday under the charges of raping a girl who is just 8 yrs old.
The crime was committed in the morning time at the suburbs of the city. Girl’s father is a farmer and he filed a complaint in the police station as senior superintendent of police (SSP), Joginder Kumar said,
“The parents of the girl complained to the police about the incident on Monday, after which a police team was formed to investigate the matter.”
The crime location was visited by the SSP and other top officials and they all met the girl’s family in the CB ganj area of Bareilly.
The victim’s father wrote this in the complaint,
“The girl had gone to the field alone. The accused who was working in a nearby field lured her to a secluded place and raped her.”
As per the father, the girl was silent when she came back home. He said,
“My daughter was in pain but she failed to explain what had happened to her. We took her to a nearby doctor who informed us that she was raped.”
An FIR has been filed by the police under sec 376 (rape) of IPC and POCSO.
The accused, whose father is a labourer, was taken at the crime location by the police team and his statement was recorded.
The SSP further told,
“The accused is a resident of the same area. He was arrested by the investigation team. We have also requested for a medical examination of the girl. Additional charges will be added in the FIR once we get the medical reports.”
These incidents are not only bringing bad name to the country but also forcing us to think as to why our children are becoming so cruel and inhumane. This is not something on which the dirty game of politics should be played but all political parties should come together and help the government in fighting the menace of rape and other crimes against women.
