She got the idea from the TV news which told about the remake of movie Ocean’s Eleven in which the team of ladies led by Sandra Bullock create chaos in the city. The only reason that they were not able to implement their plan was the lack of money; Nithya knew that her father had locked up an amount of Rs. 38 Lakhs in his safe, which he has received in a land transaction, recently.

On Tuesday, Nithya looted the safe when her parents were out for a dinner and kept the cash with one of her friends and when the police was searching for the robbers, she stayed in the Southeast Delhi. However, the things started getting uglier when Nithya and her friends went untraceable.

The first doubt of Police went on the male friends of Nithya, thinking that may have also conspired in the robbery. A special team was formed by Mandeep Randhawa, DCP (Southeast) which was led by ACP Anil Yadav. The data of the mobile phones was scanned and the photos of all the missing persons were collected by their parents. The mobile phones of all the four missing girls were switched off in Delhi.

Police get a major breakthrough when an informer told them that he had seen the girls taking a taxi, almost 400 taxis which may have been in that area were checked, CCTV footages from nearby areas of the school and railway station was scrutinized. One of the taxis hadn’t returned, so the driver of the taxi was contacted. An Officer told, “When we contacted the driver, he said he had dropped these girls at a hotel in Dehradun and was on his way back. He also verified the photos through WhatsApp.”

Driver told the police that the girls booked him through Justdial, he took them to Nizamuddin Railway Station from where the girls were planning to catch a train to Dehradun. However, as there was no train for next few hours, the girls asked the driver to take them to Dehradun.

Girls spent Rs.11,000 on taxi ride, Rs. 10,000 on a suite in luxury hotel while Rs.80,000 were spent on purchasing shoes, bags, dresses, etc.

Police told the driver to return to the hotel so that the police can talk to the manager of the hotel. Police told the hotel staff to keep a check on the girls and asked them to lock the girls in the hotel room when they return from shopping. The hospital staff did as they were told to do by the police, the girls kept shouting and banging the door for hours, however when the door was opened, they found a police team standing in front of them on Saturday morning. Police also found Rs. 37 Lakhs from the hotel room.

“An FIR has been registered in this regard and action will be taken as per law,” said DCP Mandeep Randhawa, the girls are back in Delhi now and police is thinking about the next step.
