Nevertheless, after he spent about a fortnight at different guest houses, the teenager was caught by city crime branch but till then, he had splurged the big amount on dancers. He could be traced from a south Mumbai orchestra bar which was one of the places he visited from the time when he fled.

As per crime branch officers, the teenager was forced to study science after getting good marks in boards but he didn’t want it. When he could not pass the 11th standard examinations, he had to confront his father’s unhappiness and wrath.

When the boy was asked to pick up speedily by father, he just took cash along with mother’s gold earrings and fled on 29th April.

On 1st May, a case of kidnapping had been lodged with Wadala police when the juvenile didn’t show up for few days.

As stated by an official of crime branch, “He had been in touch with one of his friends and had been changing lodges (place of residence) and orchestra bars every two days to avoid getting apprehended. He acted cleverly and within two weeks splurged the cash on the women dancers. He has been splurging on alcohol too.”
