On one hand, Akshay Kumar had the support of many Bollywood celebrities and on the other hand, Hrithik Roshan’s only support was a big banner i.e. YRF.

While Hrithik Roshan was missing since 2014’s Bang Bang, Akshay Kumar had given some back to back hits without taking a break.

Now talking about ‘Rustom’ and ‘Mohenjo Daro’ collections, morning shows gave a rough idea about how the business is going to be throughout the day. However, let us see who is leading the race as per trade analyst Taran Adarsh;

Poor Hrithik; he has been left behind by Akshay Kumar in the race. Even though ‘Mohenjo Daro’ released in 2700 screens as opposed to ‘Rustom’ which released in just 2317 screens, it couldn’t garner good collections.

Talking about the first day collections, the Hrithik Roshan starrer couldn’t mint even 10 crores, and stood stable at 8.87 crores, which is definitely very disappointing. On the other hand, the Akshay Kumar starrer won hearts of many people and the collections are a proof of it. It garnered a whopping 14.11 crores!

With such good collections, ‘Rustom’ becomes the 4th highest opener of 2016, the first 3 being Sultan (36.54 crores), FAN (19.20 crores) and Housefull 3 (15.21 crores).

Let us see how both the movies perform on the weekend! Yes, people would be flocking the theatres this long weekend and if Hrithik is lucky enough, tables would turn. However, only time can tell this.
