There have been many incidents in which people have been robbed by thugs who posed themselves as CBI officers or Income Tax officers plus there are also numerous examples of getting a job on the basis of forged certificates. In fact, we ourselves may have been acquainted with someone who has either forged his/her certificates or work experience and holds a good position in workplace.
But today we are going to tell you about an incident which has set new parameters in terms of fraudulent practices. A 20 years old youth has been arrested by the Madhya Pradesh police for making false claims of getting a job with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), which is United States’ Space agency.
The name of the youngster is Ansar Khan and a fake ID card with President Obama’s signature has also been recovered from him. Ansar, who has studied till 12th standard only, had claimed that NASA appointed him to the “Space and Food” program. He will be joining his duty later this month and his annual salary will be Rs. 1.85 crore.
His school and some other local organizations even honored him for this achievement but Ansar made a mistake of inviting the senior government officials of Kamalpur administration for felicitation ceremony which was being conducted in his honor.
Doubts took birth in the mind of Shashikant Shukla, the senior police official, when Ansar came to invite him with his ID around his neck. When the senior police officer saw President Obama’s signature on the ID card, he ordered investigation regarding the claim made by the youngster.
As the layers of the fraud unfolded, it was found that Ansar has not only fooled people by telling about the job but also taken money from a number of individuals promising them to return it as he gets salary.
As per the police, Ansar got fake ID card printed in a local photo studio on August 14. He was honored by his school and other local organizations for his achievement and one of his felicitation ceremonies was attended by the local MLA too.
This is what a police officer named BS Gaure has to say about the case, “Our SP got suspicious after seeing his (Ansar’s) identity card and we started our investigation. The owner of the photo studio told us that Ansar kept on postponing his date of going to the US and did not even possess a passport. He had even taken money from people for going to abroad.”
There are many incidents where people have tried to forge documents but forging NASA’s ID card and convincing people to believe that he is NASA’s official is surely beyond imagination.
