Kieron Pollard, the West Indian cricketer, is an integral part of the IPL team Mumbai Indians as he has been associated with the squad since 2010. MI is the most successful team of the IPL with 5 title wins and it won’t be wrong to say that Kieron Pollard has been instrumental in these wins of the team. Recently, the West Indian cricketer Dwayne Bravo talked about how Kieron Pollard was signed by the Mumbai franchise. Speaking to a cricket portal, Bravo said that when MI needed a replacement for him (Bravo), he gave them the name of Kieron Pollard but at that time, he was playing for a club, so Bravo gave the name of Dwayne Smith.
However the next year before the Champions League when Pollard was with Bravo in Hyderabad, the latter made a call to Rahul Sanghvi and asked him to sign Pollard before the tournament commenced. Dwayne Bravo added that Rahul along with Robin Singh came to Hyderabad from Mumbai with a contract worth $200,000. He called Pollard who came downstairs and met Rahul and Robin in the lobby.
Bravo further added that the magical moment was when the 19 years old Kieron Pollard saw the contract as coming from Trinidad, $200,000 was quite a big amount for him; Pollard looked at him (Bravo) with amazement and said, “Dwayne are you serious?”
Since then, Kieron Pollard has been associated with MI and his association with the franchise for such a long time is a proof that he has been performing well consistently.
