What you will do if you get a ticket by the traffic police for violating traffic rules, of course you will blame that moment when you committed the mistake and then you will think of the dent in your pocket but for this driver, it was a moment of joy. We are talking about Declan Tramley, who is just 3 years old, lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia and rides a red plastic motorcycle.
On 5th of July, Declan’s father took him to waterfront where he was riding his bike, as he is a lover of bikes when he saw many bikes parked there, he left his own over there and went to see the real ones. Unintentionally, Declan violated a rule which says that you can’t leave your vehicle unattended in Halifax, when noticed by Shawn Currie, Constable in Halifax Police for 22 years, issued a ticket to Declan.
As told to Yahoo Parenting by Shawn Currie “I pulled out my pad and gave him a ticket, which was really a blank piece of paper, he was very excited, and he turned to his dad and said, ‘Look, the officer gave me something.’”
Declan’s father clicked the pic of ticket exchange and also sent it to Shawn. This pic was then posted on Facebook and Twitter by the Halifax Police, with the statement on it “Remember, you cannot park your motorcycle in the circle by the ferry terminal, we caught this ruthless biker there yesterday.” Since then this post has received 11,000 likes and 3,000 shares on Facebook.
As the post went viral, Shawn says “The response to the photo has been incredible. It shows the lighter side of the police and that we have a lot of positive interactions with the public; we’re not bad guys who only arrest people.”
What is known to everyone that a few minutes earlier Declan’s father talked to Shawn and told him that Declan loves to come waterfront and have a look at the motorbikes parked there Shawn told that “That’s when I thought it would be fun to give him a ticket.”
Shawn also says that nothing can make Declan happier than being handled by a real cop. Declan’s mother Lisa told Canada’s CTV News. “He loves his ticket. He tried to go to bed with his ticket.”
