‘Rustom’ was constantly ahead of ‘Mohenjo Daro’ in terms of collections on Friday and Saturday. Yes, it garnered a total of 30.54 crores on first 2 days, leaving behind the Hrithik Roshan starrer which could garner just 18.37 crores .
Even though ‘Rustom’ released on 2317 screens as opposed to ‘Mohenjo Daro’ which released on 2700 screens, it is leading the race and receiving good response from audience. It even became the 4th highest opener of 2016 since it collected 14.11 crores on the 1st day itself.
‘Mohenjo Daro’ on the other hand couldn’t even cross 10 crores on both the days, the 1st day collections being 8.87 crores and 2nd day collections being 9.60 crores. Everyone expected that it would do well on Sunday. Now, that the 3rd day collections are out, let us see how both the movies have performed.

On the 3rd day, the Hrithik Roshan starrer showed improvement and minted 12.07 crores bringing up the total to exactly 30.54 crores, the figure which ‘Rustom’ earned in 2 days itself (14.11 crores+16.43 crores).

On the other hand, early estimates say that the Akshay Kumar starrer garnered 19.88 crores on Sunday, bringing the total to 50.42 crores. Even Monday collections would be good since people have Independence Day holiday and would definitely flock the theaters.
