Can you believe that a 5 years old girl gave birth to a baby? Sounds shocking and impossible, doesn’t it? Just think how hard it would have been for the girl, her parents and her doctor to believe it when they actually saw everything happening before them……
We are talking about the youngest ever mother, i.e., Lina Medina belonging to Ticrapo, Peru. Born on 27th September in the year 1933, she was a healthy and normal child. However, parents observed her belly swelling unusually one day and made up mind to get the girl checked up medically.
In the hospital, doctors presumed of it being a tumor but her uterus’ x-ray result shocked them all utterly. What they thought a tumor was actually a baby and the girl was around 7-month pregnant at that time. What’s even more surprising is that Lina began to get her periods at such a little age and as alleged by her parents, she had not had it for some time.
On account of a tiny physique, doctors opted for cesarean for delivery and on 14th May 1939, she successfully delivered a baby boy whom Lina further named Gerardo which was also the name of her doctor.
As per doctors, Lina had utterly matured reproductive parts in addition to completely grown mammary glands and it made doctors reach the point that the girl suffered from precocious puberty.
Police detained her father, as he was accused of raping the girl; nevertheless, he had been freed shortly in the absence of any evidence against him. However, it’s unknown that who’s the father of Lina’s child.
