7 Signs That You Are Dealing With Too Much Stress

Given our hectic schedules, it’s no wonder that we’re constantly stressed throughout the day. If you’re feeling like you can’t take it anymore, let me tell you, I’ve been there and done that.

It’s never easy balancing your personal and professional lives. For the first 14 years of our lives, we struggle to get past our academics. And the Indian education system doesn’t make it easier for us.

And then, you’re thrust into the real world which pretty much sucks. You have to show up at your job six days a week, slog through the month to find you’re entirely broke at the end of it and still find time for your personal commitments.

Before you know it, you’re stuck in a vicious cycle of stress which never seems to end. And guess what? It begins to show on your face and even your physical health begins to take a toll.

Here are 7 signs you’re dealing with too much stress:

1. Headaches

Coming back home after a hectic day to a throbbing headache is one of the most crucial signs that you’re over burdening yourself. One way of getting rid of this headache is to turn the lights off, turn on some soothing music and just lay in your bed on your back till you feel better. Also, make sure you stay away from your phone during such times.

3. Insomnia

Are you unable to sleep properly at night? Or maybe, every time you fall asleep, you’re woken up by nightmares of frightening thoughts. This could be a sign of stress.

4. Decreased energy

Of course, if you’re too stressed, you’re going to find it impossible to make it through the day without being bogged down by fatigue.

5. Frequent sickness

Have you been falling sick frequently? It could be something as simple as a cold or it could be something more serious like fever. If yes, your body might be trying to tell you something.

6. Chronic pain

If you have been experiencing bouts of unexplained pain for a while, it could mean you’re overstressed. This would include back ache, pain behind your neck, aching joints and so on.

7. Sudden changes in appetite

Stress does not necessarily mean that you would be eating less. If you’ve been eating more than usual, this could also be a symptom of stress.
