Your STD and mobile bills can bring smile on your face as they are becoming pocket friendly soon as Trai is going to slash the rate on the calls going outside of your home network. From now on, calling your girlfriend is not a matter of headache and you can even save bit of your money from here to spend on some accessories or roses to impresses her. Well…it’s good enough for all the gals out there too as they can keep a constant look on their boyfriends by calling them every now and then. Awwww!!
The happy comes a day after Trai had announced for a cut in local mobile as well as landline rates by reducing the charge that companies have to pay to terminate calls on competing networks. Adviser at Trai said that the reduction in the rates would result in cheaper STD calls as the carriage charge is the only additional charge that is applied on STD conversation on mobile when compared to a local call.
On the basis of issuing an amendment to the Telecommunication Inter-connection Usage Charges Regulation, Trai passed the new order that will reduce the rate on the ceiling for carriage of STD calls. The rate has been reduced from 65 paise to 35 paise per minute.
So, now there’s no hurry in hanging up your phone while you are on roaming and you can talk to your loved ones for as long as you wish.
