People always criticize India for being a poor and backward country. But wait, you are wrong! India has just found a mention in the list of top 10 wealthiest countries of the world.
Yes, as per reports by New World Wealth, India got the 7th position with total wealth of $5,600 billion. U.S has topped the chart and is considered to be the wealthiest country with wealth of $48,900 billion.
India has even surpassed Canada, Australia and Italy, whose total wealth is known to be $4,700 billion, $4,500 billion and $4,400 billion respectively.
China is on the 2nd place with a total of $17,400 billion and Japan is on the 3rd place with a total of $15,100 billion. While United Kingdom is on the 4th position with a total of $9,200 billion, Germany and France are on the 5th and 6th position with $9,100 billion and $6,600 billion respectively.
Basically, when we are talking about the term wealth, it refers to the person’s net assets including business interests, equities, cash and properties. This list is exclusive of government funds.
Wondering how India came in the list? Well, this is because of the country’s large population i.e. 1.2 Billion. Australia’s position is very impressive, since it has population of just 22 million people.
