Indian Govt. Awakes – Asked Youtube To Remove Documentary Else Youtube Will Get Banned In India

Indian Government has told Youtube that this issue is very sensitive and asked them to remove the documentary from their website by Thursday evening. In case of non-compliance of this law and order, Youtube will get banned in India.

Govt. also said that – if any social media website will be found to share the documentary link then legal action will be taken against the owners of the website as well as website will be banned in India.

Indian Govt. banned this documentary to be released in India but BBC didn’t listen and went ahead to air the documentary on their BBC Four channel 3 days before the official schedule. Video was even uploaded on Youtube which went viral. Indian Govt. has said that they will even take a legal action on BBC for releasing it world wide.

When contacted, a YouTube spokesperson said, “While we believe that access to information is the foundation of a free society and that services like YouTube help people express themselves and share different points of view, we continue to remove content that is illegal or violates our community guidelines, once notified.”

The video sharing site did not confirm whether it has received a notification from the government, which is required to remove the content from its site. All TV news channels are flashing that documentary has already been removed from Youtube

At the time of writing this story, the documentary was still available on YouTube and has gone viral with multiple shares.
