But now, it is time to get over that concept and try something new. How about celebrating and enjoying weddings in a luxury train? Won’t it be a great idea? Well, this has turned into a reality and now you can enjoy a royal wedding on Maharajas’ Express.
But wait; for that you need to keep Rs 5.5 crores ready, got a mini heart-attack already?
Well, IRCTC has plans to start wedding on wheels packages, in which you can enjoy this luxury train for 1 full week. This package would offer a perfect combination of enjoyment and travel; i.e. exploring Incredible India as well as enjoying wedding festivities.
How would the experience be?
The wedding on wheels package would let those guests enjoy a desi wedding, which is rich and glamorous. Moreover, it would consist of experts who would manage all the events professionally, for the groom and bride’s families. Talks are going on and very soon, various packages would be launched.
Certain wedding planners would be roped in for customizing various plans. As per the budget, semi-luxury or luxury coaches can be chosen. The price would depend on the type of coach, number of guests, spas used, and the decoration.

As we already mentioned above, this wedding + tour package is going to burn a hole in your pocket. You will have to pay 5.5 crores, if you wish to book it for 88 passengers for 8 days. This journey would start from Mumbai and end at Delhi; the destinations covered would be Agra, Ranthambore, Jaipur, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Ajanta.
This is just one package; IRCTC would devise other such packages too. The train has 43 guest cabins, having 1 presidential suite, 4 normal suites, 18 junior suites and 20 deluxe ones. The per person fare starts from Rs 4.5 lakhs and goes up to Rs 15.8 lakhs, isn’t that too high?
