PM Modi’s surgical strike on corruption, fake currency and black money was indeed a nightmare for many fraudsters and black money holders. However, people became quite restless after this announcement since they didn’t have sufficient money (Rs 100, Rs 50 or Rs 20 notes) for basic operations, since all banks and ATMs were closed. Only 1 option was left i.e. to utilize those Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes at toll plazas, railway booking counters, airports and hospitals till the 11th of November.

As a result of this, there were heavy traffic jams near toll nakas! Yes, these jams were out of control; probably, the worst jams. In a bid to solve this, the government waived off the toll till 11th of November. Yes, this was the only thing which could curb the traffic. More than 75 percent of the people were lined up at toll nakas only for getting change.
Free toll for 3 more days!
Now, government has made 1 more announcement with regards to this. Toll on national highways is free till the 14th of November now. This 3 day extension came as a breather to common man. Here’s the tweet of Nitin Gadkari;
To ensure smooth traffic movement across all National Highways, the toll suspension has been extended till 14th November midnight
— Nitin Gadkari (मोदी का परिवार) (@nitin_gadkari) November 11, 2016
This decision was taken by Nitin Gadkari after AIMTC, a major truckers’ organization stated that 70 percent of trucks would go off roads in next 3 days, because they don’t have sufficient cash for paying toll charges, filling fuel or other expense. In many corners of the country, banks don’t have sufficient cash to fulfill the needs of all and this shortage has affected many businesses, including the truck drivers.

But government knows that if trucks go off roads, it would hamper the supply of vegetables, fruits and other essential commodities. So, once again thinking from the perspective of common man, the deadline is extended.
You can use your Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes here till 14th of November
Apart from toll plazas, government has even extended the usage of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes at all public places like medical centers, government hospitals, airports, railway stations etc. till the 14th of November. Here’s the tweet of Press Trust of India;
Government extends use of old Rs #500/1000 notes for paying public utility bills by another 72 hours.

This is definitely a relief to the common man, isn’t it?
