Every now and then PM Modi is hitting the headlines for announcing something or the other. Yes, recently, we saw how usage of old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 was extended till 24th of November at major places like airports, railway stations, medical centers, hospitals, milk centers etc. This was because banks had a shortage of old notes and PM Modi didn’t want to compromise on any emergency situations.

Now, he has given one more gift to travelers. Toll on National highways has been suspended till the 24th of November midnight. Earlier government had announced that there would be no toll applicable till the 14th of November midnight. This was because of heavy jams caused owing to people lining up their vehicles to get some change and use their old notes there.
Then the free toll was extended till 18th of November midnight. This was because truck owners were facing a difficulty to manage expenses of fuel and toll, due to shortage of cash in banks.
So now, once again there is good news that the toll has been suspended till 24th of November midnight. This announcement was made by Nitin Gadkari, the Road Transport and Highways Minister. Instructions have been sent to all concessionaries including OMT and BOT operators.
Here’s the official tweet by Nitin Gadkari…
