PM Modi’s demonetization move has given sleepless nights to black money holders. There might be many people in the country who have earned cash through illegal means; this note ban is a perfect slap on their faces.
Since Government has closed all doors for depositing illegal money, fraudsters have become restless. Earlier, people had the option of getting their old notes exchanged even if they didn’t have a bank account. But now, exchange of old notes has stopped and one can just deposit the amount in his/her bank account.
If a person has over Rs 2.5 lakhs in his bank account and doesn’t have proper proof of income, a 200 percent penalty would be applicable as per Income Tax rule.
Poor people; they earned lot of money by all illicit means and now, the situation is such that they can’t use the currency at all.
