In most cases, there is always a strong objective behind a crime but sometimes, crimes are executed for such weird reasons that you might not be able to believe them at first.
One such weird criminal is Vincent John who has committed quite strange offenses for which he has been arrested for more than 50 times.
Yes, that’s right! Belonging to Tamil Nadu, 59-yr John is alleged to have cheated over 300 hotel owners, as he absconded subsequent to enjoying a free lavish stay at luxurious hotels. Around 30 yrs back, he worked in Puducherry as a tourist guide where he used to take tourists to hotels and in return, enjoy a free stay plus commission and perhaps from here, he had developed obsession for free stay in expensive hotels.
This is what a police official stated, as per The Hindu,
“Once he had an argument with the owner of one such hotel over non-payment of commission. That, he alleged, changed the course of his life.”
Mostly, culprits choose the path of redemption after being punished but this was not the case with John who was detained over 50 times which means nearly one arrest for each year he lived so far, as reported by IE.

In October, he had been released from a jail in Kerala and after one month, the man cheated owners of Dwarka’s Radisson Hotel by not paying the bill of Rs. 49,000. Later, John was taken into custody at Okhla’s Hotel Crowne Plaza once again. Here’s what DCP Surender Kumar said in this connection,
“He admitted to having stayed in more than 300 four-star and five-star hotels across India and not paying dues in any of them. He also stole hotel valuables like laptops, LCD projectors, expensive liquor, cigarettes, hair dryers, etc., and left the hotels with his luggage prior to his scheduled departure.”
