Famous Parathawala from Karachi, Hanan Khan is selected for the Pakistani cricket team. Woaah! He has been selected for the NCA’s XI team and would be playing against Malaysia in the T20 matches, on the 14th and 15th of January in Lahore’s Gadhafi Stadium.
Basically, Hanan hails from Balochistan and this 19-year old left handed batsman represented Quetta in various domestic matches. Quota gladiators selected him in the talent hunt last year.
After Hanan got a call from the selection team, he became pretty ecstatic and couldn’t believe that he was really selected; initially he thought that it was some prank call.
He said “I suspected it was a prank call so I called them back to make sure that someone’s not messing with me. I am incredibly happy to get this chance.”
He also thanked the selectors and said
“I belong to a region where cricket is not played that much but still the selectors come, watch emerging players and give them chances. I am really thankful to all the people who have supported me, especially the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that has played an important part in promoting emerging players from my native Balochistan.”
We are happy that he is selected; youngsters must take inspiration from him and should be encouraged to take risks, for proving themselves in front of the world. There are many cricketers who are still struggling to get a chance because their skills aren’t being recognized.
