Time and again we have seen racial discrimination against people from North East, God knows when all this will stop! Few days back, we had reported about students from Mizoram being stopped at the gate of Taj Mahal, because the officials thought they were foreigners. People don’t even realize how much stress it might be causing to them.
One more incident has come to light and it is SHAMEFUL; a 23 year old guy was being brutally beaten up. This incident occurred on the 26th of December in RS Palya area of Banaswadi and was captured on CCTV, but the video of the same has gone viral now.
A youngster identified as Jerry from Mizoram was abused and assaulted with iron rods; you’ll be shocked to see the video. Do you want to know the reason? It was just over a fallen 2-wheeler, isn’t it petty?
Inspector of Banaswadi police station stated that Jerry parked his 2-wheeler outside the residence of his neighbor; when he heard the sound of scooter falling off, he immediately rushed there, only to be assaulted with iron rods by a Christian family. Jerry, who works as a hairdresser was accompanied by a female friend, but luckily she was spared. The neighbors kept showering abuses on them; they asked Jerry and his friend to leave right away.
The residents claimed that there were many friends in his house, which created a lot of chaos. They further alleged that since the family members suffered from heart ailments, they couldn’t tolerate it.
Bengaluru Students’ Association complained to the Police and it was only after this that the video was highlighted; in no time it became viral. 3 accused, identified as Lynn Wilson (54), Carlton Wilson (56) and Clifford Wilson (80) have been arrested on the 11th of January.

Jerry was shocked after this incident and he left for Mizoram. Out of fear, he hesitated to approach the police too. This racial discrimination should stop right away!
