There may have been protests against the selection of Donald Trump as the President of the USA but the reality is that he has taken oath as the 45th President of America and started talking to the leaders of other countries.

President Trump talked to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over phone on Tuesday night and as per the readout issued by the White House on Wednesday, both the leaders had discussion on the matters of defence, trade and terrorism. President Trump called India a “true friend” of the USA and also invited PM Modi to make a visit to the country in the later part of the year.

The two leaders not only talked about taking steps to further strengthen the partnership of the USA and India in the fields of defense and economy but also shared their concerns regarding the security conditions in the Southern and Central Asia.

The readout also says that PM Modi and President Trump, both of them, agreed that India and the USA should give complete support to each other in the fight against terrorism.
