19-Yr Boy Stabbed To Death By College Mate For Getting “Too Close To His Girlfriend”

We need to do some introspection in our schools, colleges as well as homes in order to find out as to what is making the Indian youth of today so violent and aggressive. Why the value of human life is decreasing day by day and the teenagers have no qualm in killing someone?

Two youngsters of 21 and 18 killed a 19-yr by stabbing him almost dozens of times and they did it just because the victim was getting “too close to one of the accused’s girlfriend”. As per the police, the victim was already threatened of “dire consequences”.

On Tuesday, Pranav More (19), who was a student of South Indian College of Higher Education, Dombivali (E), was stabbed on neck and chest by two youngsters named Vignesh Sarkate (21) and Yogesh Jaiswal (18) outside the college gate at 11.20 am. Both the accused escaped on a motorcycle but they were arrested by the police after 10 hours in Dombivali only.

A police officer from Manpada Police Station, Dombivali (E), told that parents of Pranav work in private firms and they are in a state of shock and in not in a situation to give their statement. He told, “We will wait for a day or two before speaking to them again.”

The officer also told about the findings that they got to know in the investigation done till now,

“Vignesh confronted his girlfriend for ignoring him, and found that she was spending a lot of time with Pranav. The boys had a tiff recently when Vignesh had warned Pranav to stay away from the girl.”

As per an eyewitness of the crime, it seemed as if Pranav was talking to the two guys on bike and then, “all of a sudden, he collapsed in a pool of blood and the men sped away.”

In the words of Gajanan Kabdule, Senior Inspector, “We are speaking to the victim’s friends to know more about his enmity with the accused.” The police also said that Pranav told his friends about the threats that he was getting but “it appears he didn’t take the threats seriously”.

The college authorities have expressed shock on the incident but didn’t make any comment as whatever happened has happened outside the campus of college.
