Usually, Karan Johar films have SRK in the lead role, but things changed in 2012 with “Student Of The Year”, as he introduced Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra; people loved these fresh faces and set high expectations for them.
Although Alia and Sidharth became popular, Varun Dhawan became unstoppable. In no time, Varun became the most bankable actor and tasted success in every project he took up.
Student Of The Year was super-hit, and gave Alia, Sidharth & Varun, the much needed recognition. SOTY proved to be a turning point in Varun’s acting career. Following this movie, Varun was approached for many projects and he consistently showed a great performance in every flick that he signed.
All movies demanded different roles. While Student Of The Year was a light-hearted movie, Badlapur, which released in 2015, needed some serious acting. In order to please the audience, Varun had to accept variations and no doubt, he was super successful in doing so.
It’s interesting to see that in 5 years (2012-2017), Varun delivered 8 consecutive hits and 0 flops; his statistics have been awesome and he’s proved his worth with his excellent acting skills. Varun did complete justice to every role he was offered, which is why, he is a successful name in B-Town. It would not be surprising to see Varun beating the Khans, in years to come.
His recent flick “Badrinath Ki Dulhania” was a super-hit; in first 5 days itself, the movie has earned 62 crores.
