The anti-Romeo squad was formed on the orders of Yogi Adityanath, the new Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, to save women from the harassment that they face because of eve-teasers. As these teams of anti-Romeo squad started working, some cases of couple’s harassment made headlines which resulted in embarrassment for the new government.
CM Yogi has instructed high officials to make sure that these types of incidents don’t take place otherwise he will be taking strict action against the person responsible for it.
However, it seems that the anti-Romeo teams have got so excited that they have turned into moral police and are harassing every boy and girl seen together on roads.
A shameful case came to light in Deoria district where cops took a boy and girl to police station but what happened later created a disgraceful situation for them. On Friday, brother and sister went to Hanuman Chauraha for some work but they were caught by cops. They told police many times that they were siblings but police officials didn’t listen to them.

When their parents reached the police station and confirmed that they both were brother and sister only, the police apologized to them and set them free.
CO City Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh said that the team members of anti-Romeo squad would be advised to take an action only after properly observing the situation.
Hopefully, this type of incident won’t be repeated.
