Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal has issued a strict order to recover 97 Crores that is already spent by The Kejriwal government lavishly on its advertising. As we all know it’s violation of Supreme Court guidelines.

Baijal not only issued directives but also set up an inquiry on the amount that is spent on the advertisement for CM Kejriwal’s projection and his party. He has asked his chief secretary to assign the responsibility.

Aam Aadmi Party will have to recompensate the spent amount in a month’s time. This decision is taken after months, Centre had appointed 3 member committee who discovered that AAP is misusing the exchequer money on for their personal gain (Advertising).

Sources told PTI that out of 97 Crores that is spent on the advertising, the government has paid Rs 42 Crore to the advertising agencies. The LG issued an order to Chief Secretary M M Kutty to get the amount recompensated from the Aam Aadmi Party.

The remaining of 55 Crores is not yet paid by The Kejriwal government. As per LG’s order, the Aam Aadmi Party will give to the ad agencies.

Beyond this, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) also discovered that AAP has been spending for advertisement even outside Delhi. The amount is around 29 Crore which they spent on ads outside Delhi and it was certainly not falling under their responsibility.

3 Member committee which is under the leadership of former Chief Election Commission B B Tandon lays on the constitution of I&B ministry on the directions of Supreme Court. It is there to address the problems related to Content Regulation in Government Advertising.

It is also said the paid amount of Rs 24 Crore is another violation of financial propriety and the regulations of Supreme Court. This is as per the report stated by CAG in Delhi Assembly on March 10th.

However, AAP has rejected the report.

Well, if the allegations are true, a strict action must be taken. Money in the government should be used for a better purpose than advertising the political party. What do you guys think? Do let us know.
