Naam Shabana hit the screens yesterday and received rave reviews from celebrities, critics and audience alike. Although the Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu starrer is enjoying positive word of mouth, it failed to garner good numbers at the Box Office.
Talking about morning shows, Naam Shabana witnessed just a 15 percent occupancy, which is way too less. Evening shows were expected to see a growth, but unfortunately, the numbers remained low.
Compared to other markets, Gujarat and Hyderabad saw good collections. Since it’s a women-centric film, the response is not as expected. Let’s see how much the film minted on its first day i.e. Friday.
#NaamShabana gets a boost due to Akshay's star power… Evening shows fare better… Fri ₹ 5.12 cr. India biz.

On Friday, Naam Shabana garnered 5.12 crores, which is not that bad. Some credit goes to Akshay Kumar too; without him, the film wouldn’t have earned over 2-3 crores. Don’t you think 5 crores is too less for an Akshay Kumar starrer?
The movie also stars Anupam Kher, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Manoj Bajpayee in pivotal roles. It’s a prequel to “Baby” (2015 movie), which is why audience has shown some interest in knowing more about Taapsee and Akshay’s characters.
The collections are likely to rise on the weekend. Let’s see whether the movie is a success or not. How much do you think will the movie earn on Saturday and Sunday?
