Few weeks back, we had reported about a 12 year old boy from Ernakulam becoming “India’s youngest father” by impregnating a 15 year old girl. Now, a new case has been reported and this time, it is a 13 year old boy.
Yes, a 15 year old girl (9th class student) has alleged that her neighbor, who’s 13 years old (8th class student), is her child’s father and is responsible for her pregnancy. This is a very rare incident and as soon as this case was filed, Pathanapuram police (Kollam) took the boy into custody for impregnating a 15 year old.
Kollam Chief Judicial magistrate who also happens to be the Juvenile Justice Board’s Chairman granted bail to the boy and allowed him to go with his parents.
The boy admitted his mistake and agreed that he indulged into a physical relationship with the girl 2-3 times. As of now, blood samples have been taken and very soon, DNA test would be conducted.
The girl has delivered the baby 4 days back; officials won’t be able to give more details on the same because they are bound by the POCSO rules.
According to Pathanpuram Circle Inspector Nandakumar, the girl experienced labor pain on Monday and was taken to the hospital; the hospital authorities asked her to go to a better one having good facilities, but she refused to do so and preferred to deliver the baby at home itself. Currently, investigation is going on and advice of legal experts would be sought on this matter.
These incidents are quite shocking; earlier, 13 year olds used to spend time playing or studying but now, they prefer indulging in such things.
