Technology is getting advanced day by day and gradually, we have reached an era where we can’t imagine our lives without technology. In fact, it won’t be wrong to say that we completely depend on it even for small tasks. On one hand, it has made life much easier but on the other, it’s taking many lives too! Yes, you read it right!
Unless you have been living under a rock, you must be aware of the craze of selfies among youth and teenagers. People wish to click the most unique selfie and go that extra mile for it, regardless of the fact that it might be dangerous and they end up risking their lives!
A similar sort of case came to light at Hebri’s Kabbinale wherein a teenage boy from Karnataka’s Udupi almost lost his life after he made an attempt of imitating a suicide just to click a unique selfie. He has been hospitalized and treatment is going on, as he choked himself out.
It so happened that the guy along with a friend was attempting to capture a suicide selfie by tying a rope around neck and giving the pose as if he was hanging himself. As per a senior cop,
“The boy tied a rope around his neck while trying to enact a suicide drama for a selfie. But accidentally the stool on which they were standing, skidded off. The boy’s noose tightened due to the fall.”
He has been admitted in Manipal hospital and the good news is that he’s out of danger now. The officer added,
“The boy’s friend who immediately informed victim’s family saved the boy’s life.”
