We have witnessed cases in which marriages get cancelled because of dowry or any other problem. In fact, some weddings recently got called off by brides because there were no toilets in the grooms’ homes. But this is for the first time that we have come across an incident in which the marriage has been cancelled because of spelling mistakes in Hindi.
The bizarre incident took place at Mainpuri’s Numaish Ground where two families met each other for the purpose of marriage. The lady belongs to Mainpuri district’s Kurawali area in Uttar Pradesh while the man is from Farrukhabad. Now before we tell you what exactly happened, just remember that the man is senior secondary pass out while the lady hasn’t studied beyond 5th standard.
On Monday, both the families came to Numaish Ground and the duo interacted with each other. The man took out a diary and asked the lady to write down some words in Hindi; she agreed and every word written by her was correct.
The young man gave his acceptance for marriage but just then, the lady demanded that he should jot down words like “Saampradaayik” (Communal), “Drishtikona” (Viewpoint) and “Parishram” (Diligence) along with his address.
Surprisingly, it was found that all the words including address were misspelt, which aggravated the lady and she refused to marry him. Family members and relatives tried to counsel the lady but she was adamant and didn’t listen to anyone and finally, both the families returned to their homes.
