People who accompanied Modi in this search result were Sanjay Dutt, Osama Bin Laden, Dawood Ibrahim, Ariel Castro (serial killer of America), Hafiz Saeed, etc.
However, the Internet giant later apologized for the blunder it committed after huge uproar on social media and issued a statement which read,
“These results trouble us and are not reflective of the opinions of Google. Sometimes, the way images are described on the internet can yield surprising results to specific queries. We apologise for any confusion or misunderstanding this has caused. We’re continually working to improve our algorithms to prevent unexpected results like this.”
It was then that it added a disclaimer as well in the related searches, which said,
“These results don’t reflect Google’s opinion or our beliefs; our algorithms automatically matched the query to web pages with these images.”
After almost two years of the incident, an FIR is lodged against Google as well as its director by RK Awasthi, a member of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) for the “derogatory search results” that “insulted PM Modi”. As per Shahjahanpur SP, Kamal Kishore, the complaint has been lodged under IT Act’s various sections. On being contacted by PTI, Google spokesperson stated,
“We have not received any notice of this complaint and are unable to comment.”
Nand Kishore, a lawyer by profession as well as a complainant, was surfing national news on the search engine and meanwhile, stumbled upon a list which put Narendra Modi in the category of “Top 10 Criminals”. He told PTI that the depiction of PM Modi in such an insulting manner hurt him deeply.
Shockingly, people protested against Google by burning its posters despite the fact that it already apologized for the big mistake!

What could be more shameful and disgusting?
We are quite surprised as to why the complaint has been lodged after two long years of the incident. What’s the logic behind it?
