Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt make a great couple and there’s not the least doubt about it. But it’s not necessary that a couple who makes hit Jodi in reel life falls for each other in real life too. Agree?
On the career front, they stepped in the film industry together in 2012 with Karan Johar’s “Student of The Year” and since then, news about the couple’s link up have been doing rounds. However, Varun was hardly affected by such headlines, as he told HT Café,
“It’s all good. Alia and I have worked together, and we enjoy working with one another. I did my first film with her and we recently shot our third film together. So, it’s all nice and it’s always lovely working with her. People enjoy watching us together, which is the most important thing. At the end of the day, Alia is a friend of mine.”
Market of gossip was abuzz with the rumor that the couple enjoyed a lunch date in Singapore during the shooting of “Badrinath Ki Dulhania” last year. It was then that Alia spoke up on the matter and said that she was “bothered” by it. Here’s what Varun said over it,
“Yes, it was very upsetting for me too. And it’s purely due to the fact that Alia and I were working extremely hard on the film. We were conscious about the fact that we were pairing up for the third time, and so, we were like, ‘we should do something novel and unique.’”
As per Junior Dhawan, he and Alia focused on work and spent long hours daily with the director so that they delivered the best. He continued,
“And when these things come in, sometimes, it makes your work look frivolous. It makes people say things like, ‘yaar, yeh log yahi kar rahein hain.’ It got irritating at that point, but now, it’s fine. It’s part and parcel of being an actor, and you also take such things with a pinch of salt.”
Varun further says that he doesn’t give a damn to “who is saying what or who is writing what” and this is how rumors can be tackled with grace.
