PM Modi’s Efforts Have Paid Off! India Takes A Big Jump In World Tourism Rankings!

PM Modi has always given a lot of importance to tourism of India and for that, he has taken various steps too. Looks as if Modi’s efforts are finally paid off; it is clearly reflecting in the UNWTO i.e. UN World Tourism Organization rankings.

Yes, India’s rank is much better than that of 2014 and 2015. In 2014, India was on the 41st position, while in 2015, it was on the 40th position, but now, it has jumped 16 places to get the 24th position. Isn’t that great?

The rankings are decided on the basis of 2 things, one is arrivals of Non-Resident Nationals and 2nd is Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTA).

Earlier, only FTAs were taken into consideration but now, the data of NRIs is also included. According to a press release, “Due to this inclusion, India’s improved rank reflecting the true and comparable scenario has now been acknowledged by the UNWTO.”

In 2014, the NRI arrivals were 5.43 million and in 2015, they were 5.26 million. Talking about the FTAs, they were 13.11 million in 2014 and 13.28 million in 2015. In 2017, things have drastically improved and the numbers have witnessed a boost.

Even in the TTCI i.e. Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index, the position of India jumped 12 places from 2015. In 2015, the rank was 52nd but, the TTCI ranking was 40.

The tweet read, ‘As far as tourism is concerned, India is blessed with so much potential and this can draw the world to India: PM @narendramodi”

Seems Modi’s words have come true; we hope India’s position keeps improving in the list because there are lots of things to be enjoyed in the country. When foreigners come here, they fall in love with the place.

Isn’t this a proud feeling?
