ICC Champions Trophy final match between India and Pakistan can’t be forgotten. India could have won the match easily, if they focused more on batting. As soon as the Indian team came to bat, they started losing wickets.
India is a strong team, and so, we all couldn’t digest that fact that they lost by a whopping 180 runs. Loss can be accepted, but when the margin is too big, everyone has their own doubts.
Ramdas Athawale, the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, has made a shocking statement on the finals. He too was surprised to see how India lost, in spite of being a powerful team.

The minister has a doubt that Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli had fixed this final match against Pakistan. It was their batting that made him think so; he said,
“In the match against Pakistan, someone like Virat Kohli who scores a century so often and other accomplished players like Yuvraj Singh who have scored so many runs in the past, looked like they were playing to lose.”
In order to clear his doubt, he has also ordered an inquiry into the matter. He further added,
“Was there any match fixing involved? There should be an inquiry into this. Anil Kumble was the coach there. Kohli, who has scored so many runs in the past, what happened to him that day? That’s the reason why I have a doubt that was it a case of match-fixing? The players betrayed us. They kneeled in front of a rival like Pakistan. The same Pakistan that has kneeled in front of us many times, to kneel in front of them in such a way is major act of disrespect to your nation.”

Do you also agree with what Ramdas Athawale has said? He has rightly said that Indian team didn’t give their best performance. Virat and Yuvraj are strong players, and such low runs weren’t expected from them.
However, it could be a matter of luck too; we can’t blame the Indian cricketers because they have made us proud on many occasions. Matter will be cleared only when the the inquiry is completed.
