Looks as if people have become too violent these days! Every now and then, we come across incidents, where innocent people are thrashed for no reason. Yesterday, something similar happened with Parvinder Awana, the cricketer who represented India in 2 T20 internationals and plays for Kings XII Punjab; yes, just because he tried intervening in a brawl, goons brutally beat him.
What exactly happened?
Well, Awana returned home from Haridwar and after resting for few hours, he went to the market in Site-4 area Greater Noida for buying ice in order to relax his muscles. Outside the ice factory, he saw 2 groups fighting for a young woman. He asked them to stop fighting and guess this was his biggest mistake. He never knew that this “Interference” would prove to be dangerous for him.
He drove away in his SUV and as soon as he crossed 100 meters, he realized that the same group of goons had followed him. Yes, they reached there and forced Awana to stop the car. They even threatened Awana that they will shoot him. After thrashing the cricketer, they fled away; according to him, they fled towards Dankaur village.
Awana posted this incident on a WhatsApp group name
d “TenNewsNoida” around 6pm. He wrote, “Mera par hmla hua, Abhi side 4 par, Kise par police ka no h, G noida plz help. (I have been attacked. If anyone has the number of the police in Greater Noida, please help.)”
The members immediately contacted the police and they immediately came there. A case has been registered under section 323, 506 and 147 and a probe has been launched.
Police have got the CCTV footage and they are trying hard to identify the accused. Awana has sustained minor injuries on his shoulders, lips and wrist.
Such incidents should stop right away. Hope the accused get a good lesson.
