This Racist Soap Dispenser Dispenses Soap Only If Light-Skinned Hand Is Put Under It! Watch Video!

Racism is one of those problems which have existed for a long time now and it can only be erased by changing the mindsets of people and making them understand that a person cannot be judged on the basis of his/her colour.

However, it will come to you as a great surprise cum shock that a soap dispenser has been charged for being racist now. Yes, you read it right!

A Nigerian user took to Twitter and posted a video which shows that a soap dispenser discharges soap if a light-skinned person puts hand under it and amazingly, it doesn’t function when a dark-skinned person puts hand under it. But if the same dark-skinned person takes a white tissue paper in hand and puts it under the soap dispenser, the soap is released.

The tweet has been retweeted for more than 150,000 times, liked by more than 2,00,000 users and nearly 2700 have commented on it.

While some users are calling it a technical problem or lighting problem, the others are emphasising on the need of employing people from diverse backgrounds as they feel that if the company employed a dark-skinned person, the problem would have been discovered earlier.

Maybe if the company that designed this employed a single dark skinned person they'd have found this problem earlier.

Since it is in the company's interest to sell soap, it's an error, not racism, and a costly one for them (redesign, update). Know your tech.

The point is these technical issues resulted from a lack of concern for all end users. If someone cared about the end users, would've used

Doesn't detect infrared emitted from the hand, it'll have a bulb and expects a certain amount to bounce back. Dark hands reflect less back
