“Pehredaar Piya Ki” attracted much flak and wrath of audience for allegedly promoting child marriage and showing a 9-yr boy stalking a 19-yr girl and proposing her for marriage. That was not all! An online petition was started by furious viewers to put a ban on the show and taking action on the same, BCCC asked the makers to change its slot from 8:30PM to 10:00PM. And now it appears that the makers have made up mind of putting an end to all the controversy, as they have found an ultimate solution.

It was already rumored that the show would take a leap of 12 years and now HT has reported that the search for grown up prince has started. “Pehredaar Piya Ki” is expected to take the alleged leap in the month of October and the new face will be replacing Afaan Khan.

“We have been looking for actors to play the part of 21 year old prince. Since the time we spread the word, we have been getting a lot of applications. Interested candidates have been sending their tapes for audition as well.”

A noteworthy point during selections is that the actor must look younger to Diya aka Tejasvi Prakash, wife of Ratan Singh. The makers are looking for a fresh face for this role and hence, they might also take auditions across the globe prior to the final selection.

The source adds,

“It will be great if we get a fresh face. Whoever is showing interest is being asked to perform a scene from the show.”

Though people believe that this leap is an attempt to finish all the controversies surrounding the show, the source affirms that the makers planned it much in advance. As per the source,

“Since the show went on air in July, the leap will be shown in October. So unlike what is being is said, we have not planned the leap to put an end to the criticism around the show.”

Let’s see whether this change will be favorable for the show or not! What do you say?
