One person about whom every Indian is talking about is Manushi Chhillar, the beautiful and intelligent woman who brought the glory of Miss World to India after a gap of 17 years.
It was in the year 2000 that Priyanka Chopra won this title last time and since then, we were just waiting to see another Indian winning it.
While the whole country was admiring her, there were some who started making fun of her surname and one of them was the Congress leader Shashi Tharoor.
Shashi mocked Manushi when he tweeted, “What a mistake to demonetise our currency! BJP should have realised that Indian cash dominates the globe: look, even our Chhillar has become Miss World!”

This didn’t go well with Twitterati who trolled him mercilessly as nobody liked the way he ridiculed an achiever.
It seems that Shashi Tharoor has realised his mistake and for the same, he apologised to those who were offended with his joke. He clearly stated that he didn’t want to disrespect the bright girl and requested Twitterati to “chill”.
This is what Shashi has tweeted, “Guess the pun IS the lowest form of humour, & the bilingual pun lower still! Apologies to the many who seem to have been righteously offended by a light-hearted tweet today. Certainly no offence was meant to a bright young girl whose answer i’ve separately praised. Please: Chill!”
