Shocking: Increase By 67% In Abortion Rate Of Girls Below 15! Where Are We Heading?

As per the information collected in a survey conducted by Bombay Municipal Corporation, the percentage of abortion cases of Teenagers under the age of 15 has gone up by 67%.

BMC obtained this data from the licensed medical officers and the findings that have came out in this survey have been quite shocking. It exposes the fact that there is huge increase in physical relationship among the teenagers and there is increase in abortion cases among the teenagers, especially girls under the age of 15. As per this survey, 111 girls below the age of 15 aborted in 2013-14 while in 2014-15 the number has risen to 185.

The survey also reveals that only from Andheri East and West the number of abortion cases is 6000 and mostly these abortions were done in Private Hospitals. A Senior Gynaecologist, Dr. Suchitra Pandit stated that the girls who are asking Doctors for contraceptives are those who have just passed out of school.

If we examine the cause as to why girls choose to abort, we come to know that since contraceptive pills fail, there is no other way left for them. Moreover, the conclusion also depicts increasing rate of intercourse in teenagers.
