The Indian batting somehow managed to score 191 runs in the first innings as the England bowlers were literally on fire and in response, the England team put up a total of 290 runs on the board. However in the second innings, the Indian team batted brilliantly as Rohit Sharma scored a century (127) and three batsmen made half-centuries – Cheteshwar Pujara (61), Rishabh Pant (50) and Shardul Thakur (60). The Indian team made 466 runs in the second innings and gave a target of 368 to England which they had to score in 90 overs.
