Still Waiting For Your Ticket To Get Confirmed? Pay A Little Extra And Fly To Your Destination

Indian Railways are always flooded with passenger who keeps on waiting for their ticket to get confirmed. But with the collaboration of SpiceJet with Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation(IRCTC) the problem may vanish soon. The only consideration is that you have to pay a little extra and get hold of a flight ticket.

It is more like upgrading your seats to get hold of a ticket and avoid all possible hassle of waiting for the confirmation of tickets. The airline will offer extremely “competitive fares” to passengers whose train tickets remain unconfirmed. The charges will be based upon the travelling distance and the rush in the season.

“The ticket prices will depend on the season and the routes on which we fly to. So, if it’s a weak travel season, we will charge less for the upgrade,” said Ajay Singh who promoted the budget carrier SpiceJet.

“This is an excellent move. Trains have a long waiting list and at any given point of time there are hundreds of passengers who have unconfirmed tickets. If they have an option to upgrade their travel by air, it’s a win-win situation for both the airline and the travelling public,” said Subhash Goyal, president, Indian Association of Tour Operators.

As for the consumers, it will a great treat as they will get the opportunity to fly at supposedly nominal charges if their ticket remains unsure. Also, the airlines will see a surge in their profit since once the flights takes off with a vacant seat, that is utter loss for the Airlines company.

“We have already started this and in times to come, this arrangement would grow further,” Singh added. The objective behind starting this system was to ease the means of travel and provide convenience to the travelers.
