Sheldon Jackson, the Indian young cricketer is a pretty famous name among the Indian cricket fans as he has performed superbly in the domestic circuits while in the IPL 2022, he will once again don the jersey of Kolkata Knight Riders. However, things turned a little ugly when he was referred to as an overseas player by a senior journalist during discussion in a sports show.

However, the journalist Rahul Rawat made a post on the micro-blogging site Twitter in which he explained that he never called Sheldon Jackson a foreign player and also urged his followers to watch the complete video clip. Rahul Rawat wrote, “Nowhere during this clip or during the entire show did I ever mention #SheldonJackson as a foreign player. My bad I didn’t realise when he got called an overseas entrant. Pls go through the entire show because I am very well aware of Sheldon’s achievements for Indian cricket”.

Rahul Rawat posted this explanation in response to a tweet which claimed that Sheldon Jackson is being called an overseas player by cricketing experts. The tweet read, “This is height of comedy! The so called cricket experts on #SportsTak are continuously calling Sheldon Jackson a foreign player. Shame!”

Sheldon Jackson, the Saurashtra cricketer, also responded by sharing a tweet which stated that Sheldon Jackson comes second in the list of batters with most centuries for Saurashtra in Ranji Trophy. The tweet also contained an image of Google Maps showing Saurashtra so that the journalist can get from where the cricketer belongs.

While Cheteshwar Pujara has scored 21 centuries, Sheldon Jackson has scored 17 centuries which certainly speaks pretty high of his achievements in the Indian cricket world.

In 76 first class matches played by Sheldon Jackson, he has scored 5634 runs at an average of 49.42 and he has made 19 centuries and 27 fifties till now. There is no denying the fact that his IPL franchise must be hoping a lot from him in the IPL 2022.
