Najam Sethi resigned from post of the PCB chairman when Imran Khan’s government came into power in 2018 because of his differences with Imran Khan. Though many were of the opinion that Ramiz Raja would be removed from the post after Shehbaz Sharif became the PM of Pakistan in April 2022, Ramiz somehow managed to save his post for quite some time.

Removing Ramiz Raja from office would be foolish. Because of Ramiz Raja, the quality of Pakistan team is better than many teams in the world today and the departure of Ramiz will definitely affect Pakistan cricket. pic.twitter.com/eTcwV8E0O4

@najamsethi getting reinstated as Chairman @TheRealPCB is the cherry on top of regime change debacle. What a perfect example of getting back to square one, almost as if someone turned back the time. Is Younis Khan team captain now?#PakistanCricket #ramizraja

What’s happening in PCB? Are they really replacing Rameez Raja? Hasn’t he done a lot of good for them? #RameezRaja #PCB

Ramiz Raja has made headlines many times because of his statements regarding India especially in relation to the change of venue of the Asia Cup 2023. The Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to be held in Pakistan but the BCCI secretary Jay Shah who also happens to be the President of the Asian Cricket Council has made it clear that team India won’t be travelling to Pakistan and the tournament should be shifted to a neutral venue.

This angered many former Pakistani cricketers including Ramiz Raja who stated that if India would not travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023, the Pakistani team wouldn’t travel to India for playing the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 that is going to be held in India.
