In fact, according to a report in The New Indian Express a few of these samples had more lead than even Maggi.

As per the standard set by FSSAI, a product should not contain lead content to 2.5 parts per million (ppm), but the sample showed that some of the products have more that the mentioned limit and were high up to 3.4 ppm. Also, it is worth taking the note that it was in the tastemaker {Masala} that the lead content was found and not in the noodle itself.

“While the noodle cakes had negligible lead content, the tastemakers that accompany the packs have been found to have high levels. We found above permissible lead content in some of these samples sent by the authorities and have submitted the reports to them. However, only part of the samples have been analysed, some still remain,” DK Jawaharlal from the food analyst laboratory, King Institute Campus in Chennai was quoted as saying by The New Indian Express.
