The toss was won by the Aussies and they put India to bat first. Though India lost Virat Kohli early, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was in superb form and he led from the front as he scored 92 runs for which he played 41 deliveries and his innings included 7 fours and 8 sixes. With the help of some useful contributions by Suryakumar Yadav (31 runs), Shivam Dube (28 runs) and Hardik Pandya (27 runs), the Indian cricket team managed to post a total of 205/5 on the score board in their stipulated 20 overs.

In response, Australia also lost David Warner quite early but Travis Head (76 runs, 43 balls, 9 fours & 4 sixes) and skipper Mitchell Marsh (37 runs, 28 balls, 3 fours & 2 sixes) kept their team in the chase by producing a partnership of 81 runs but as they both got out, the Australian batting lineup fumbled and ended up at the score of 181/7 on the completion of their 20 overs.

The Indian online users were thrilled with Rohit Sharma’s knock and India’s win as for many of them, it was a revenge of the ODI World Cup 2023 final which India lost to Australia.
